Commercial Casting Call:

ELEVATE

The Story

For the past 10 years, Elevate has worked relentlessly to bring fiber internet to the Western Slope. They are known for their fast speed, reliable connectivity, reasonable rates, and personalized customer service. They're a big community player in small town Colorado...But is there more to the story? Some people think so. Rumors and even hard evidence are spreading that Elevate may not be working alone. In this three-episode commercial mini-series, a documentary crew follows a cast of characters ranging from skeptics to believers as the cast explores the mystery.

The Characters

We plan to cast the following characters and will be following a written script. Actors will need to memorize lines, follow production team guidelines for costume/makeup, and respond to coaching from the film director. The crew expects each episode to require 1-2 days of time on set to film. The final runtime will be just 2.5-3 minutes per episode.

MAIN CHARACTERS (several blocks of lines in all 3 episodes)

Owen Pike (*Female Variant: Olivia "Liv" Pike)

Conspiracy theorist, male, age 20-30

Owen grew up as a tech-nerd on the Western Slope before fast internet and had to make his own way in the computer/internet world. He is driven, self-reliant, confident, somewhat anxious, and rather clumsy. He is eager to share the evidence for his latest theory with anyone who will (and won't) listen. *Director will consider casting this role as female for the right person.

Eugene Douglas

Old-timer, rural farmer, male, age 60+

When it comes to all this internet nonsense, Eugene is the greatest skeptic there is. He knows these fiber fanatics are out of their mind, and even if they weren't, well...who wants to put up with that kind of change any way? He is cranky, yet charming, and isn't particularly excited to be on camera.

Cody Blaze

Elevate spokesperson, male, age 40-60

Cody has been with Elevate from the beginning, and he's learned a thing or two about keeping the peace. Though first portrayed as a "strictly business" board member, he has a warm side too. He cares about doing right by his company and his community.

SUPPORTING CHARACTERS (a few lines in 1-2 episodes)

Lisa

Reporter, female, age 30-50

Classy, light-hearted, warm, and professional, Lisa is exactly what you would expect for a standard local news reporter. She takes her work seriously, even if it involves covering stories as far-fetched as this.

Toby

Reporter, male, age 30-50

Positive, self-assured, and a little cheesy, Toby prides himself in bringing local news to his community, with just the right amount of cringe. He is self-assured and confident even if he has no reason to be.

Debbie

Mother, female, age 35-50

Debbie is meek, shy, and a proud mom to her son Xander, who she believes has a very active imagination. Though she's a little embarrassed to admit it, her dear son has latched on to the latest rumors taking the town by a storm. Kids come up with the most outlandish things sometimes.

Xander

Tech savy kid, male, age 7-12

Xander is a positive, optimistic boy who enjoys living in the video game world - partly for the games, but mostly for the stories. Adults don't seem to understand, but he doesn't let that get him down.

SPEAKING EXTRAS (single line in 1 episode)

Ex: attendees at an Elevate community meeting, community members who share their opinion on the recent events.

BODY EXTRAS (no discernible lines, 1 episode)

Male or female, any age
